🍃 Freeze-Dried InstantTea Powder — Production & Sterilization Process
-
1️⃣ Raw Material Selection & Pre-Treatment
· Use high-quality tea leaves (green,
black, oolong, etc.).· Remove dust and impurities.
· Lightly fixate or blanch to stop oxidation and preserve color.
👉 Purpose: Ensure freshness and purity of tea for extraction.
-
2️⃣ Tea Extraction
· Extract tea components (polyphenols, amino acids, caffeine, essential oils) using hot water (80–90°C).
· Extraction time: 15–30 minutes depending on tea type.
· Filter to remove tea residue.
✅ Result: Clear tea extract rich in aroma and nutrients.
-
3️⃣ Concentration
· Concentrate tea extract under vacuum at
40–60°C to remove part of the water.· Solids content: 20–30%.
· Low temperature preserves nutrients and aroma.
-
4️⃣ Sterilization (Crucial Step)
Before freeze-drying, sterilization is essential to eliminate microorganisms and ensure product safety.
For ZIPTEA, we adopt a non-thermal UV Sterilization & Microfiltration process instead of traditional high-heat treatment.🔹 Why we use UV/Microfiltration:
· Maintains the authentic taste and bioactive
compounds in tea.· Avoids thermal degradation of delicate flavor
molecules.· Guarantees a clean, safe, and high-quality
tea extract ready for freeze-drying. -
5️⃣ Freezing
· Rapidly freeze concentrated tea extract to −30°C
to −50°C.· Faster freezing = smaller ice crystals = better
tea quality. -
6️⃣ Vacuum Freeze-Drying(Lyophilization)
· Under vacuum, ice sublimates directly into vapor
(without melting).· Retains tea’s color, aroma, and nutrients
almost completely.· Final moisture content: below 3%.
👉 This is what makes freeze-dried tea far superior to spray-dried tea.
-
7️⃣ Grinding & Sieving
· Crush freeze-dried tea blocks into fine powder
(40–100 mesh).· Sieve for uniform size and excellent solubility.
-
8️⃣ Blending (Optional)
For flavored or functional teas (fruit tea, probiotic tea,
beauty tea, etc.):· Add fruit powder, flower powder, probiotics, or
herbal extracts.· Mix evenly and dry under low temperature again.
-
9️⃣ Packaging
· Pack under sterile and nitrogen-filled
conditions.· Common formats:
- Single-serve sachet (0.5g)
- Box of 10 / 20 sachets
