This is the first freeze-dried tea that I have tried, and I have to say it's quite effective. As the packaging states, within seconds you can be enjoying a hot or cold cup of flavorful tea without waiting for any brewing or steeping. The packaging suggests anywhere from 300ml up to 1000ml of water to adjust the strength of tea, and at 300ml it tastes around as strong as what you'd get from a single tea bag. The flavor also tastes just like freshly brewed tea, seemingly suffering no loss due to the freeze drying process. I would have preferred a stronger peach flavor, as this tastes very much like an oolong tea with light notes of peach, as opposed to some other green teas I've tried with stronger fruit flavor. Perhaps including some freeze dried peach could help enhance it, but otherwise it's an enjoyable cup of oolong tea.At $15 (at the time of this review) for 10 pouches, this is quite a bit more expensive than many bagged and loose leaf tea varieties, but the value comes in the convenience of not having to wait for your tea to brew. If you're looking for a grab-and-go instant oolong tea option, this offering from ZIPTEA is a good choice.
This instant tea powder is very convenient and easy to prepare. Simply mix the powder with hot or cold water, and your tea is ready in just a few moments. Depending on how strong you prefer the flavor, you can use anywhere from 8 to 16 ounces of water. I dissolved the powder in about 8 ounces of cold water and added a few ice cubes to make an iced peach oolong tea. The flavor is smooth, crisp, and refreshing, with a pleasant combination of oolong tea and peach flavor. It makes a particularly enjoyable drink on a warm day. I also appreciate that the tea powder contains no added sugar, so you can enjoy it as is or add your preferred amount of sweetener.
